Our Mission
Shirley and Steve Rees

The Bible has been relegated to dry and dusty irrelevancy and/or become a fluid document shifting to meet the current cultural norms.

The collapse of Biblical moral values, the disintegration of the family unit, and the loss of integrity are all products of a society in which the Word of God has ceased being a standard for life.

Harp and Story — The Peregrinnatti, our mission is to bring Scripture to life and relevancy. Music is what feelings sound like. The harp expresses the emotion of the story planting life truths deep in the spirit.

Our prayer is that the truths we express in music and story telling grow and produce much good fruit to the Glory of the Kingdom of YHVH.

Our Approach

The Peregrinnatti

Harpist and Storyteller of Scripture

Harpist and Storyteller, Steve and Shirley Rees of the Peregrinnatti travel from place to place helping to build "Echad" (Unity) in the body of Messiah. The name “Peregrinnatti” comes from early Celtic pilgrims or missionaries that journeyed from place to place sharing the gospel story.  Like our ancient, missionary brethren we seek to honor this tradition of traveling from place to place sharing the gospel, through the art of storytelling and harping. In some small way, we hope to revive this age-old practice of presenting scripture so people may experience the old, familiar narratives with new life, understanding, and clarity. It is our hope and prayer that you will be impacted positively by these slices of life that we share with you.

Our Story

Our Story

On Memorial weekend of 1992, Shirley met her Savior, Yashua haMashiach (Jesus Christ), up close and personal; was filled with the indwelling presence of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit); and her life was forever changed! It quickly became her life’s passion to communicate to the world the life-changing reality of a personal encounter with the King of Kings, Yashua. Shirley brings her wonderful talents as a dramatic storyteller to present the Gospel stories in a vivid colorful portrayal that many people say “it was like watching a movie!”

In 1998 Steve built a small harp to see if he could master the instrument and thus began his now 2-decade love affair with the harp.  By 2001 he was taking the harp into the hospital to play for his patients who were on dialysis. As a Registered Nurse, he began to notice the beneficial physiological effects of the music on the patients as they listened to the calming music. Noting a specific scripture in 1 Samuel that described David playing the harp and the music causing a “troubling spirit” to depart King Saul, Steve began to wonder if there might be a connection between the Psalms that King David would later write, and what that music might have sounded like. In 2006, he began to study how there might be a connection between the Hebrew text of the Psalms of David and musical notes that might give clues to how David’s music might have sounded.

Now 12 years later Steve has recorded more than 10 CDs and continues to work with the music of the Psalms of David as related to the Hebrew text. Steve and Shirley travel extensively in the USA and internationally and give musical performances, stories and lectures to share the joy of the “Harp and Story” ministry.
