Introduction

“America’s 7000” comes from the story of Elijah found in 1 Kings 19:18. Elijah had just come down from an incredible encounter with Yahweh only to find himself running from the threats of King Ahab’s wife, Jezebel. The angel of the LORD ministered to Elijah with food and water and on the strength of that food, Elijah journeyed 40 days and nights to Horeb, the mountain of YHVH. “There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
He said, “I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

Whoever would have thought on January 1, 2020, that by March our world would be turned upside down and people of Judeo-Christian faith would be so marginalized and compromised and violently despised? I am rather inclined to think that Elijah wasn’t talking about there being anyone left who professed the Name of YHVH, but more there were none left who fervently opposed the works of darkness and took their place in the breach on behalf of the land so it, and the people, would not be destroyed.

Are there “7000” in America willing to take their place and stand in the breach? Eze 22:30, “And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.” Or, will YHVH say that He knows “7000” in America who have not bowed the knee to Baal nor kissed his lips? It’s our choice. Choose you this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve YHVH!
