Run the Race As to Win
We have most likely all heard the saying, “As darkness increases light will also increase.” YHVH gave me an understanding on this saying a few years back; it is not so much about a quantity increase of light, but a quality increase. Darkness comes at the believer in Yashua from two sides; one side is obvious — gross and evil darkness, the other side is what I refer to as “good” darkness. Several movies in the last few years have portrayed this insight; among those being the Harry Potter series — Harry being a “so-called” good wizard; the most recent “Alice in Wonderland”, with the “good” White Queen stirring potions in the basement of her castle. These characters are portrayed as “good”, but they are still operating in the realm of darkness. The darkness is increasing, pressing in on those who walk in the light, which is Yashua. As those who walk in the light of Yashua get squeezed, one of two things are bound to happen; the one squeezed will either step into the so-called “good” darkness to try and avoid the ever-growing intensity of light, or they will stand in the light, not betraying their Beloved, suffering persecution and possibly death because they will not compromise with darkness. The only way as followers of Yashua we will ever be able to endure the extreme intensity of this light will be to take refuge in Yashua; He and He alone is our shield.
Psalm 91; He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you. You will only look on with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For you have made the LORD, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place.
Yashua is the LIGHT of the world — darkness cannot come where light is!
My daughter-in-law competed in the Ironman Triathlon the 28th of June. She has been training for years for this event; but especially so this past year. Her commitment and dedication have been most admirable! The event began at 5:45 a.m. with a 2.2 mile swim in the lake; then proceeded to a 112 mile bike race, uphill and down and culminated with a grueling 26.2 mile marathon run. The most amazing thing about this day was the temperature was 104 degrees; factoring in the heat emanating up from the asphalt the temperatures reached 145 degrees. 20% of the competitors had to drop out of the race because of the extreme heat — that was over 400 competitors. 500+ competitors needed IV’s due to dehydration and other factors. Our daughter-in-law finished the race, every segment completed before the allotted cut-off time; with three minutes to spare she crossed the final finish line! She beat incredible odds that day and we, her family, were at the finish line to welcome her; Well done!! Good job, girl, we are so proud of you!!!
I couldn’t help but be reminded of Rav Shaul’s admonition to the believers …
1Cor 9:24; Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
The darkness increased exponentially June 26, 2015, and it is even now pressing against those who walk in the light and it will continue to increase this pressure until the goal of darkness is achieved; the elimination of LIGHT, (which will never happen by the way!). But, it is only because of Yashua that we will not be crushed and consumed by this increasing darkness. My question is this; have you/me beat our bodies bringing them into submission to the hard duty required of us to complete the course of this race and receive a crown of life at the coming of our Messiah? Or will you/me fall out and quit the race because you/me haven’t trained sufficiently? Only by drinking daily of the living water which flows from the throne of YHVH; only by daily eating the flesh of Yashua and drinking His blood will we be nourished sufficiently to resist stepping into the shadows of the so-called “good” darkness.
John 6:51-57; “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. “For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me.
When we do finally cross the finish line of this race called Life this is what we will hear from those waiting for us at the finish line, cheering us on, encouraging us, exhorting us; “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Father!”
Heb 12:1-6; Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM; FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.”
Run the race set before you and put out of your mind even the most remote thought of ever giving up! And again I say to you, “NEVER give up!”
