Our Mission
Shirley and Steve Rees

The Bible has been relegated to dry and dusty irrelevancy and/or become a fluid document shifting to meet the current cultural norms.

The collapse of Biblical moral values, the disintegration of the family unit, and the loss of integrity are all products of a society in which the Word of God has ceased being a standard for life.

Harp and Story — The Peregrinnatti, our mission is to bring Scripture to life and relevancy. Music is what feelings sound like. The harp expresses the emotion of the story planting life truths deep in the spirit.

Our prayer is that the truths we express in music and story telling grow and produce much good fruit to the Glory of the Kingdom of YHVH.

There is a saying that goes like this; “Does a fish know what water is? No, not until it jumps out of the water and gets a different perspective.”

Leaving Long Beach, CA, for a 7 day cruise down the Mexican Riviera on the Carnival Cruise Ship, Splendor. Ports of call were, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. Steve and I were enjoying this time away with my sister Tammy Rossi.

Our week at Thrive Training in Holland, Michigan, was like being the fish that jumped out of the water and got a different perspective! I am beginning to realize how much I let the “world” dictate my life, my joy level, my quiet time. I let priorities, forced upon me by the needs of the moment, push to the back of my mental “bus” — Yahweh.

How did Yashua order His day? What can we learn from the pages of scripture?

Mark 1:35, “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”

Mark 6:31, “And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”

Matthew 26:11, “For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.”

As I read these verses I hear Yashua saying, “Put me first, rest in Me, find your strength and joy and quiet in Me. The world only takes, I give. Receive from Me and be filled with every good and pleasant thing. My yoke is easy and My burden is light. The world is full of cares; please don’t get so caught up in the cares of this world, your current existence, that you lose your connection with Me. Please don’t let Me become just another task on your list of activities to check off.”

I have begun reading a book on the benefits of infrared light and how almost none of us get enough infrared light, with the possible exception of those who spend entire days working outside. This book also talks about the harm we do our bodies with too much blue, ultra-violet and green light. Our bodies are designed by our Creator Yahweh to wake up with the sunrise and go to sleep after sunset. We have lengthened our days with artificial, ultra-violet light from all the technologies that we have surrendered to. Our bodies are operating less than maximally because of a confused and disoriented circadian rhythm of activity and quiet.

So, to help put myself more in line with the wisdom and direction of Yashua, and implement the counsel of the Thrive Training on Quiet, and put in to practice my gleanings from the infrared book, I have begun to turn off all artificial lighting around 9:00p.m. and light candles instead, which emit infrared light.

Tammy, my beautiful sister enjoying local culture!

This change of night-time lighting is amazingly quieting and relaxing; it doesn’t take long to feel the effects of quieting in my body. During this time of quieting before sleep I meditate and pray; bringing to mind the needs of the day and releasing them to Yashua. I think on His greatness and majesty and how there is no lack with Him, for truly His arm is not too short that He cannot save!

There will always be urgent needs that demand your attention right now, but I tell you the truth, “You will always have the poor (these pressing needs) with you.” It takes courage to change, but with Yashua’s help change is possible — a little at a time, bit by bit will come to reap huge rewards. Go ahead and take a tiny step today!
