Travel Journal 2018 Oh My, A Day is Missing!
A funny, interesting, Yahweh thing happened on our way to Reno this week. We left Iowa Tuesday morning, stopped for a Costco run in Omaha and spent the night in Kearney, Nebraska. That night fireworks were popping off almost all night and it wasn’t even the 4th! The next day as we were traveling along Interstate 80 we were both struck with the idea of making a slight detour to visit our friends John and Kelly Mills in Eaton, Colorado. We have plenty of time to make it to Reno in a leisurely fashion — we both thought this! Three days, a thousand miles, no problem!
Our short visit with the Mills was a divine appointment; Yahweh orchestrated the visit, there is no doubt in our minds about this at all. We left their home around noon the following day and drove to Rock Springs, Wyoming where we spent the night. It wasn’t until this morning that we realized today is not Thursday but Friday! Where did we lose a day?!
We, as human beings, get so caught up in our dimension of time and space. Time dictates the order of our day. Do we have time to stop and pray, stop and speak, stop and listen, stop and enjoy something beautiful? What am I running toward or away from that demands I take time from something to give to something else? What opportunities do we miss because we give time or the lack of time such an imminent place in our life? Yashua says in Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Live today, this moment, NOW! Where does Yahweh want you Now? What does He have for you to do Now? Live in the present of NOW!
We would not have made the detour to visit the Mills if we would have had the correct order of days in mind. Yahweh wanted us to stop in and see John and Kelly — He had words and confirmations that all of us needed to hear. What happened was His plan, but now we have 700 miles to go before we sleep — that works out to be a 14 hour day for us. Sorry Terry and Marti, I guess we’ll be a little late for dinner!
I wonder what He has for us Today?!
